Chicago’s Sports Events Culture
Chicago has a fervent sports events culture, with numerous collegiate and professional teams located in the city. In fact, it’s been named one of the nation’s “Best Sports Cities” by Sporting News three times. The Windy City is home to the NBA’s Chicago Bulls, the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks, and dozens of other professional and collegiate sports teams.
Chicago is the third largest city in the United States, with a population of nearly three million. Known for its melting pot-style neighborhoods and diverse culture, it’s no wonder that locals enjoy sports and games. The city has been named one of the top sports cities in the world three times and has been ranked in the top 15 of TSE’s annual international ranking of sport cities. Chicago is also home to the first Heisman Trophy winner, Jay Berwanger.
