Chicago is a city rich in sports and history. This cosmopolitan city, with nearly 3 million residents, is a cultural melting pot with major sporting events that draw huge crowds and help the local economy. The city’s sports scene has been recognized by many publications and is consistently in the top fifteen sports cities in the world. In fact, Chicago was the home of the first Heisman Trophy winner, Jay Berwanger, and has had several professional sports teams that compete at the highest level.

The city has been named the “Best Sports City” by Sporting News three times. Chicago sports fans are fiercely loyal to their teams.
