Regardless of whether you are a resident of the Windy City or a visitor in tow, you are likely to have heard of the city in a big way. There is a reason why the Windy City has a reputation for being one of the most livable cities in the United States. The city has a population of about 3 million people and a wealth of public and private sector resources aimed at keeping the lion’s share of the lion’s share of that population happy and healthy. Despite all this, Chicago is a city that is best described as a melting pot. During the Great Depression, it was not uncommon for residents to move in and out of the city at will. This, combined with a robust and well maintained transportation infrastructure, has turned the Windy City into a destination in its own right. The most obvious implication is that the city is now home to numerous quality restaurants, retail outlets, entertainment venues, and other attractions. The city is also home to the infamous and legendary Chicago Blackhawks, a storied minor league team in the National Hockey League (NHL). The city also boasts an extensive list of other notable sports teams, including the Chicago Cubs, the city’s minor league baseball affiliate, and its minor league basketball team, the Chicago Bulls.
