Sports Events Culture in Chicago

Whether you are a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan or a devoted Chicago Bears supporter, sports are an integral part of the city’s culture. In fact, the city has been named the best sports town in the world for three consecutive years. The Chicago Bulls, the Chicago Cubs, and the Chicago Blackhawks have a combined total of ten Stanley Cups, two of which are in the past two years.

It’s no secret that sports generate millions of dollars in ticket sales and merchandising in the form of apparel, souvenirs, and other wares. For example, the Chicago Bears have lost every single home game this season, but their attendance figures are still respectable. That said, there is a reason the Bears are the best attended team in the NFL.

The sports industry as a whole represents a billion dollar business in the United States. A recent transfer of personnel has reduced the educational opportunities available to some. It’s not that the sports industry isn’t worth its salt, it’s just that the best teams have opted out of the current game plan.

Sports can be great for the city, state, and country at large. In addition to raising awareness of important issues, they also arouse great passion among fans. The fans of the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, and Chicago Bulls are among the most enthusiastic. The Chicago Bears are especially devoted fans. While the Bears have had a rough start to the 2014 season, the Bears still have a fanatical following.
