Sports Events Culture in the Windy City
Besides the Chicago Cubs, Chicago is home to numerous professional teams. While there is no question the Cubs have the best name in town, it’s hard to deny the Bulls have had a golden age in the past. And, while there may not be a sports team from the state of Wisconsin to be found in Chicago, the Windy City is home to a veritable cornucopia of minor league baseball, soccer, and hockey teams. And, if you’re looking for a game of catch all, a trip to the fabled Windy City is a surefire way to get your fill of Chicago football.
The Chicago Bears may not be a championship caliber team, but their fanbase is one. They are one of the biggest sports fanatics in the country, and the Bears have a rich history. And, while the Bears may have been a stumbling block in 2014, it isn’t like the team is in bad shape. The Bears haven’t won the big one since 1985, but, the team isn’t exactly the defending champs.
The best part of sports is the camaraderie, the social scene and the camaraderie it brings to the table. While the Bears haven’t had the best of starts this season, fans have been out in full force, especially on the weekends. With that in mind, it is not surprising that the city has seen its share of high-flying celebrity baseball players. For instance, Chicago Cubs shortstop AJ Zutta and second baseman Anthony Rizzo were inducted into the Hall of Fame earlier this year.
