Sports Events Culture in Chicago
Besides being the third largest city in the country, Chicago is also one of the most multicultural cities in the country. This is why it’s no surprise that it has a rich sports culture.
As for the best sports team in Chicago, the Chicago Bulls are up there in the league. The Bulls have been known to have memorable moments, like when Michael “Air” Jordan led the Bulls to the championship game. They also fund youth sports programs and have a longstanding partnership with the Chicago White Sox.
The Chicago Cubs are not to be ignored either. The Cubs have been around since 1876 and have had a storied history in sports. They have a large following, with a fan base of more than 3 million people. They have also been credited with the city’s economy, generating around $600 million in revenue annually.
A few years back, Chicago was even dubbed as the best sports city in the country. This was attributed to the city’s inclusion in TSE’s International Ranking of Sport Cities. The best sports city designation also paved the way for a spate of sporting events to take place in the city.
One of the coolest things about Chicago’s sports culture is the diversity of its fans. While some fans may be diehard Chicago Cubs fans, others may be loyal Bears fans, or simply a fan of a particular sport or team. Whatever the case may be, the city’s sports fans are loyal to a fault.
