Sports Events Culture in the Windy City
Putting the word “sports” in the context of a city may sound like an exercise in futility, but Chicago is a sports lover’s haven. Not only does the Windy City host a multitude of professional and amateur sports teams, but it is also home to one of the largest concentrations of sports fanatics in the United States.
As far as sports go, the Chicago Bears haven’t won a Super Bowl in years, and the Chicago Cubs don’t exactly produce an overflow of cash. But if you’re a fan of the NBA, you’ll be delighted to know that the Bulls have won five NBA titles in the past twenty-one seasons. In fact, the Bulls have won more games than any other NBA team in the city’s history.
Sports are fun and they can also make your day a little brighter. A great place to go for your sporting fix is Soldier Field, the home of the Bears. Almost every home game is sold out, and the fans are unflappable. The Cubs also fund a slew of athletic programs for local kids.
The best sports town in the country is also one of the best places to live. With an estimated population of over three million, the Chicago area is home to a diverse demographic, and the city is a melting pot of cultures. The city also happens to be home to the first Heisman trophy winner, Jay Berwanger. And as the largest metropolitan area in Illinois, it’s no surprise that the state is home to several professional sports teams.
