Things to Do in Chicago

Whether it’s the storied Chicago Blackhawks NHL franchise, the Cubs or the plethora of minor league ballparks, the city is packed with sports fans. As such, it’s no surprise that the city has made it on a number of lists and bucket lists alike. Fortunately, there are plenty of things to do in Chicago, so you should not have to go far to find a fun night on the town. Aside from the plethora of sporting events, the city is also home to a slew of tourist attractions and museums, making it one of the most family friendly cities in the U.S. Despite the fact that the metro area is growing at a snail’s pace, the city continues to boast one of the highest concentrations of sports enthusiasts in the country.

For one thing, the city is the home to the most well-funded sports teams in the nation, including the Chicago Cubs and the Bears, and a plethora of amateur and professional athletic programs. For the sports fanatic, it’s no wonder the city has been dubbed as the sports capital of the United States. On the flip side, it’s no secret that many Chicagoans have expressed concerns about Bally’s plans to build a casino near the city’s heartland. With that in mind, it’s no wonder the city has garnered a bevy of awards. For example, in 2015 the city won a trophy for being named the best sports city in North America, while retaining the title for the past several years.
