Sports Events Culture in Chicago
Whether you are a sports fanatic or not, you are bound to have heard of Chicago, the third largest city in the United States. With a population of nearly 3 million and a plethora of sporting events to boot, it’s no wonder the Windy City is the king of the sporting world.
There are several major professional sports teams in Chicago. The city is also home to several amateur sports teams. One of the best examples of this is the Chicago Cubs, who churn out $600 million annually for the state of Illinois. The team has made a number of notable feats in its history.
The Chicago Bears may not be your typical professional sports franchise, but they are a name you know and trust. Their most recent big break was the Stanley Cup, which they captured in 2013. It’s also hard to argue with the team’s accomplishments of the past few years. The other major professional sports franchise in the Windy City is the Bulls, who have won the NBA championship on two different occasions.
The city has a storied NHL franchise, too. In the sports sphere, Chicago is one of four cities in the nation to have teams in all five of the major pro sports. The Bears haven’t won a Super Bowl in more than a decade, but they’ve got plenty of high-stakes games to look forward to. The Bears are certainly not a bad team to cheer for, and they’ve done a decent job at keeping the fans happy.
