Chicago News Sports Events Culture
Fortunately for us sports buffs, Chicago is home to a plethora of professional and amateur teams. From the oh so quaint Chicago Cubs of the MLB to the nascent Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL, the Windy City is a sports lovers haven. The best part is that despite the profusion of sports aficionados, the city has managed to retain its prestigious ranking as the top of the pack in sports. A few years back, the City of Chicago was named the best sports town in the nation. The accolades are a testament to the fact that fans of the great city are loyal, albeit a bit fanatic.
On a more serious note, the Chicago metro area is one of the most ethnically diverse metropolitan areas in the nation. There are many multicultural neighborhoods dotted throughout the city, but the most famous ones are located along the North and South sides. This diversity translates to a rich and diverse sports culture. In particular, the Bulls and Cubs are the most popular and successful teams in the franchise.
