Sports have been a part of the fabric of life in Chicago for quite some time. Major sporting events in the city have been held in the past, ranging from the Chicago Bulls’ dominance of the NBA to the Blackhawks’ two Stanley Cups. These events have a huge effect on the local economy, and they’re good for the community at large. The Chicago Bears and Cubs are some of the best teams in the league, so it’s no surprise that these fans are ferocious and loyal.

The evolution of sports has been influenced by a combination of technological advances, globalization, and social movements. As the aforementioned technologies enable images and money to travel faster, the world’s population has more opportunity to be a part of the action. In addition to fostering camaraderie among fans, sporting events have served as a means of raising awareness about important social issues. As a result, sports have been a driving force behind the renaissance that’s been gripping the Windy City.

In the latest round of award season, Chicago has been named the “Best Sports City in the World” for the second year in a row. It’s easy to see why so many people would be proud to call themselves fans of the Chicago Cubs, Bears, Blackhawks, and Bulls.
