Chicago News Sports Events Culture
The city of Chicago is no slouch in the sporting department. Aside from hosting major events, the Bears and White Sox have also funded numerous youth sports programs over the years. This has translated into a high school football winning culture, and a new wave of younger blood in the locker room. In short, the city’s storied sporting dynasty is a veritable smorgasbord, making it a top contender for the sports enthusiast’s dream job.
Among the multitudes of Chicago sports fanatics, a few notable names have made it their mission to win the trophy of mediocrity. These include the sexiest fans of all time, the Chicago Bulls, as well as the Chicago White Sox and Cubs. However, the most popular of the group is likely the Chicago Blackhawks. While it isn’t exactly the next best in town, the Blackhawks have two Stanley Cups to their name. This is hardly a drought, with the team winning two in the past five seasons. The team has also won the most games of any franchise in the modern era.
On a side note, the city’s sports culture has been a worthy recipient of a handful of awards over the years. These include the aforementioned Best Sports City in the World, as well as Best Sports Town, as well as a number of local awards.
