One of the best parts about the Chicago sports culture is that it is a cosmopolitan city that celebrates all kinds of ethnic groups. It is also one of the most diverse metropolises in the country. Among the countless sports teams that call Chicago home are a handful of major league teams, minor league teams, a minor league golf club, and many other professional and amateur sports leagues. Sports fans in Chicago are passionate to a fault. Regardless of the teams they support, they will watch the games, watch the playoffs, and if possible, attend a game or two.

One of the newest incarnations of the Chicago sports culture is a program called the Reach Out and Reinforce Respect. This program is a brainchild of the Northwestern athletic department and is directed by a team of student athletes. The program is intended to promote sportsmanship among Chicago’s youth.
