The CBS 2 Stream has the latest on an attempted carjacking in the middle of downtown Chicago during rush hour Wednesday evening ended in a monumental crash that killed one suspect. Also three people were shot, one critically wounded, outside of a Walmart in the Pullman neighborhood.

Good evening I'm Joe donlin live in the CBS 2 Newsroom a busy night here in Chicago we want to bring you up to date On two breaking stories that we are Following at this hour first a deadly Carjacking in the loop police tell us a Woman was inside this Infinity when a Man and a woman jumped inside there was A struggle the driver lost control and Slammed into a CTA piling CTA fire Chicago Fire rather had to cut everyone Out of the wreckage they were taken to Local hospitals we have just learned the Male carjacker involved in this has died The female suspect was taken into Custody and at this point we do not yet Know the condition of the owner of that Car also breaking tonight a shooting at A Walmart parking lot at 109th and Dodie That's in Chicago's Pullman neighborhood CBS 2's jeremon Terry just getting there He joins us now your mom what can you Tell us Well Joe I can tell you that Unfortunately we have Shoppers who are At this Walmart here in Pullman's right Off the Bishop Ford they were caught in The middle of Crossfire according to Chicago Police if you take a look over My shoulder there were three people in These vehicles they were loading Groceries when for reasons still unknown Someone in a dark vehicle pulled up an Opened fire on two men and a woman you

Can see all of these orange cones on the Ground right now they represent the Multiple shots that went off in this Busy Walmart parking lot here in in Pullman in the Pullman area now I had a Chance to talk to a few Witnesses when We arrived on scene one of the cus the Workers he was actually the guy that Pushes the carts inside the store he Says all of he's he was at the front of The store when all of a sudden he saw People in this parking lot rushing into The establishment inside Walmart they Thought maybe it was fireworks but by The magnitude and how many shots that Went off it became clear that this was Something more severe when that Individual stepped back outside he told Me he saw two people lying on the ground Here again Chicago Police they have this Walmart parking lot here in the Pullman Area right off the Bishop Ford a good Portion of it roped off and I don't know If our photojournalists can zoom in but I want to show you something you see two Shopping carts those two carts in the Middle of those two vehicles by those Three vehicles those carts are full of Groceries again Chicago fleece letting Us know that the individuals that were Shots who were shot I should say they Were unloading I should say loading up Groceries just finishing shopping it is Not clear if this was an attempted

Carjacking if this was something that Was targeted but we do know at this hour We have three people who were rushed to Different hospitals with serious Injuries one individual is in critical Condition this this is really shocking I Talked to a woman who goes to this Walmart all the time she says she tries To come out during the day before the Sunset because she wants to avoid Situations like this but if you have to Go grocery shopping after work it's kind Of hard to determine when shots are Going to go off or when the crime is Going to take place we're going to try To talk to more people who were in this Parking lot inside the Walmart when These shots went off and try to get an Update as to how critical these Individuals are again we know two men One woman we do not know if they were in One vehicle if they were in multiple Vehicles but I don't know if we can zoom In it may be hard from this vantage Point there is a bullet right in the Back of this uh the back rear window of This vehicle that you see the trunk is Open that lets you know the shots Or just wrap it uh again many people Just take in the back by what has Happened out here in Poorman but the Breaking news three people shot in this Parking lot Chicago police trying to Determine the true motive but they know
