Whether it’s football, baseball, or basketball, Chicago is a sporting town. The city is home to several professional and amateur sports teams, but the Cubs may be the most well known. They have won a few major sports championships in their day, and they are a large contributor to the state’s economy.
In addition to sports, Chicago has a plethora of other things to do, including a large number of restaurants, museums, and nightclubs. The city boasts the largest concentration of sports enthusiasts in the country. It’s also home to the largest Chinese population in the United States, and Chinese immigrants are a staple of the Chicago culinary scene.
The city has a storied hockey franchise in the NHL, and is the home of the Chicago White Sox. The team also provides funding for the city’s athletic programs. In 2010, the team made the top of the food chain in the league’s scoring column, generating more than $600 million in revenue for the state.
One of the most notable sporting events is the Maccabi Games, which is held at Chicago’s Soldier Field. The venue is a hotbed of activity, and fans are loyal in a big way. Among the city’s sports fans, a video of the team burning a Jay Cutler jersey went viral. However, the video didn’t actually make much of a dent in the crowd’s enthusiasm. The Chicago area also boasts a number of minor league baseball teams, but the city’s storied Tigers have long been a fixture of the Windy City baseball landscape.
