Among the hordes of Chicago, the city has a sports history spanning the last century. The Blackhawks and Bulls dominated the basketball scene in the nineties. The city also figured prominently in the NHL’s early aughts heyday, as well as several championships in the minor leagues. In 2010 the Blackhawks were the Stanley Cup champs. In the grand scheme of things, the best years to remember are still in the distant past, albeit on a relative scale. The eponymous Bears may be a thing of the past, but the organization is a major player in the sport, and has a robust charitable and athletic organization.
On a more mundane note, the city of chicago is home to a bevy of pro teams including the Bears, White Sox, Cubs, and more. Aside from the regular season, the aforementioned perks of being a Major League Baseball (MLB) city, Chicago is also home to numerous NCAA and professional soccer teams. Not to mention several professional and amateur football clubs. The city is a sports fan’s paradise, and it’s no wonder the city has made its way to the top of the bucket list. As of this writing, the city ranks as the number one sports hub in the country.
