If you are a sports buff, there is a lot to like about the Windy City. The city is home to such storied teams as the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks, amongst others. In addition to the usual suspects, the city also boasts an array of notable independent leagues, teams and athletes. In all, the city’s prodigious sporting talent has helped the area score more than 600 million dollars in revenue in 2013. This has spawned numerous community events and activities, such as a series of outdoor concerts and games to name a few.
The city has seen a renaissance of its own, as witnessed by a number of notable sporting events over the past couple of decades. For instance, in 2010 the Blackhawks won two Stanley Cups in the most prestigious competition in North American professional hockey. Other noteworthy highlights include the Chicago Cubs, the Bulls, and the White Sox, amongst others. A plethora of museums, arts and cultural attractions, such as the Adler Planetarium and the Museum of Science and Industry, also keep the city’s affluent residents occupied. Moreover, the city also has its fair share of amusement parks and water parks, amongst other attractions. Lastly, the city also boasts the largest municipal airport in the state, making it an ideal travel hub for the lucky few.
