Sports Events Culture in Chicago
Whether you are into hockey or football, or both, Chicago is a sports enthusiast’s mecca. The city boasts a storied NHL franchise in the form of the Blackhawks, along with a robust minor league baseball scene anchored by the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox. Combined, they account for more than 600 million in revenue in 2010.
In the words of one of the Chicago Bears, “We are the sexiest thugs in town.” But, hey, it’s your city, so what’s a little mojo?
Despite its plethora of sports teams and a burgeoning gambling scene, the Windy City has not ruled out a casino-themed downtown. Fortunately, a handful of major corporations and a few start-ups have a green light to move forward. The aforementioned casinos are still in the planning stages. Hopefully, Chicago’s sports culture will continue to sparkle. Besides, a winning team is always a winning team. For instance, the aforementioned Chicago Bulls were undoubtedly the best in their respective conferences in the 90s.
The same goes for the Bears, White Sox, Blackhawks, Cubs, and Cubs minor league clubs, whose fans are as passionate as the ‘hawks. Likewise, the city has made a number of pacts to woo baseball’s top talent.
