Touted as the third largest city in the United States, Chicago has a large and diverse population. This means the city is home to a plethora of sports teams. Some of them are professional while others are amateur. Nonetheless, sports are a huge draw and can have a positive impact on the local economy.

The first time I attended a game at Soldier Field, I had the time of my life. It’s not uncommon for the venue to be sold out. I’d recommend you check out a game during your next trip to Chicago. The city has an excellent sports culture and it shows.

Having said that, I’d like to give a nod to the Chicago Cubs for the best sports town in town. The team has a rich history, and has had some big moments in recent memory. In fact, the team has been involved in more games than any other sports franchise in the NFL. They are also the only team in the league to make the playoffs for the last eight years in a row. Despite their impressive resume, the team has not nailed it in 2014. This hasn’t stopped the team from continuing to make their mark.

It’s also not uncommon to find the city hosting international sporting events, with the upcoming FIFA World Cup proving no different. The city is home to a number of pro and college football teams, including the Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox.
