Chicago Sports Events Culture
Whether it’s basketball, football, hockey or a slew of other sports, Chicago has no shortage of games to play. And as the third largest city in the United States, there’s no shortage of people to cheer for your team.
The Maccabi Games are the largest sporting event in the world, and Chicago is the host city. It also has an impressive array of amateur sporting teams, some of which have made it to the big stage.
One of the most enduring and well-known sports franchises is the Blackhawks. They’re arguably the best team in the NHL in recent years. They’ve won a few of the big prizes and have a storied history. They’ve even gotten into the big time in the NFL, and played in the Super Bowl.
Another sports town that deserves a mention is Cleveland. It’s been making the list of best sports cities in the world for two years in a row. Their sports culture has been lauded by many, including the locals. They’ve won a few major sporting competitions and have been the home of the world’s most coveted trophy, the Heisman. During the early part of the 21st century, they hosted the world series, and the aforementioned aforementioned NFL playoffs.
A little more modest is the fact that the city has the highest concentration of fans of all sorts. It’s hard to ignore the fact that there are more diehards than anywhere else in the country.
