Seeing as how the city is home to some of the greatest sports teams in the league, it’s not surprising that fans are as obsessed with their team as they are with their favorite beer. This has led to some interesting fan behaviors and tactics, especially in the realm of team based rivalries.

Sports can play a major role in fostering social good will, so it’s no surprise that it spawned a small but mighty industry. The latest figures show that in 2013, the sports industry created 456,000 jobs in Illinois and New York, while generating a whopping $600 million in revenue and contributing $340 million to the local economy. So how is it that the city has managed to snag the prize for being the sports capital of the world?

Chicago has a well-developed and innovative sport industry which is a testament to the leadership and organizational spirit of the city’s citizens.
