Chicago Sports Events Culture

Whether you are a fan of baseball, basketball, ice hockey or soccer, Chicago has plenty of sports teams to choose from. It is also home to many amateur sports teams, some of which have made their mark on the national stage.

Chicago has a large and active sports community, with more than 456,000 people working in the sports industry in 2013. The city’s sports teams have been a part of the annual TSE’s international rankings of sports towns and cities for the last two years.

The Chicago Blackhawks have had some of the most successful years in the NHL in recent years. The team was the 2010 Stanley Cup champions. They also visited a local children’s hospital to cheer up patients on Halloween. During this visit, some of the players dressed up as Disney characters to raise money for the hospital’s charity.

The Chicago Bears are also one of the most popular teams in the city, with fans showing up for every game regardless of how they are performing. This season, they have started off awful. The video of Jay Cutler burning his jersey went viral a week before the game, but it has had no effect on attendance.

Other notable teams in the Chicago area are the Cubs, White Sox, and Blackhawks. They all provide funding for local athletic programs. They help ensure that the city’s youth have the opportunity to be active and develop their passion for sports.
