Several major sporting events are held each year in the Windy City, and the city is home to several amateur and professional sports teams. In 2010, the NHL’s Blackhawks won two Stanley Cups. This is a big deal in a city with a population of nearly 3 million.
Other notable sports-related feats include the Chicago White Sox’s ongoing partnership with the Chicago Bears. The Bears have not won a Super Bowl in more than a decade, but they do have several notable accomplishments to their credit. For example, Chicago has been a mecca for sports fanatics for many years, and the city has a rich sports culture.
One of the newest sports franchises in the city, the Chicago Bulls, is one of the most popular teams in the city. The team is a well-oiled machine, and you can watch their games online or on local television stations. Another major sports city in Illinois, the Chicago Cubs, are one of the most storied franchises in the history of the sport. They have had a few notable moments over the years, including a storied stint in the 1990s and the 2010 World Series.
In addition to its storied baseball and football teams, Chicago is also home to a number of professional and amateur sports teams, and many of the city’s sports fans are devoted to their teams. In a city as diverse as Chicago, sports and fans of all stripes tend to be competitive.
