The sports industry accounted for nearly $340 million in GDP in 2010 alone, making it a major driver of the state’s economic growth. The most populated major metropolitan area in the country, Chicago is also home to a diverse mix of cultures. In addition to a well rounded and well educated populace, Chicago boasts the highest per capita density of African Americans and Hispanics in the nation.

While the city ain’t short on upscale restaurants and sexy bar girls, it isn’t hard to imagine a night on the town centered around a local sports bar. While a lot of attention is paid to the downtown area, a short commute north or south will get you to the best in town.
