The city of Chicago is home to nearly 3 million residents and is the third largest in the United States. It has a reputation as a melting pot and a “city in a garden.” Despite the city’s thriving business and social scene, the people of Chicago love to play sports. In fact, Chicago was named the “Best Sports City” by Sporting News three times. The city is also a top-15 sport city in the world, and has hosted many sporting events including the NCAA championships and All-Star Games. There are many opportunities for sports volunteers in the city, and many teams and organizations have a presence in Chicago, including the Chicago Sports Commission.
If you’re a Bears fan, you’ll want to catch a game at Soldier Field. The Bears have had a terrible start to the season and are 0-5, but the stadium is always full. There was even a viral video of a Jay Cutler jersey burning a week before the game, but the video didn’t seem to affect attendance. Fans are passionate and loyal and they will go to any length to see their team win.
