Among the many things that make Chicago a great place to live is its booming sports culture. The city is home to some of the best athletes in the world and a storied professional hockey franchise. And it’s not uncommon to see amateur sports teams at the game’s biggest venues.
Aside from its storied professional sports franchises, Chicago is also home to some of the best amateur sports teams in the country. In fact, some of these teams are ranked amongst the top professional sports teams in the nation. For the sports enthusiasts in the crowd, Chicago is home to some of the best sporting venues in the nation.
The aforementioned NBA and NFL playoffs have been held in Chicago over the years, and the Cubs have been making their presence felt in the NL Central for quite some time. While Chicago is not the biggest of sports cities, it certainly is the most competitive.
Aside from the professional sports teams, Chicago is also home to a host of amateur sporting competitions, including the aforementioned basketball and hockey teams. The city also has a long and storied history of hosting major sporting events, such as the aforementioned NFL and NBA playoffs, the NCAA College Football playoffs, and the CFL playoffs. During the last two years, the city has hosted two NHL Stanley Cup playoff games, and it’s hard to deny that it’s been an exciting time to live in the Windy City.
