Having been home to the storied Chicago Blackhawks NHL franchise, as well as a host of minor league baseball teams, there’s no shortage of sports events in the Windy City. It’s no wonder that the lion’s share of the city’s residents are sports enthusiasts. It also stands to reason that the city is a hotbed of sports related entrepreneurship. With an estimated ten million amateur and professional sports fans, a few of whom are worth their weight in gold, the city boasts the highest concentration of sports buffs in the Midwest.

One of the city’s most visible sports clubs, the Chicago Bears, has been known to provide funding to local athletic programs, particularly for young athletes. Interestingly, they also have a partnership with the Chicago White Sox, which may be the only reason that the Bears aren’t the best team in the league. Aside from the Bears, Chicago has a host of notable amateur sports teams, from the venerable Golden State Warriors to the aforementioned Chicago Cubs.
