Chicago News Sports Events Culture
It’s no secret that Chicago sports fans are a loyal bunch. With the Cubs, Blackhawks, and Bulls, the city has a rabid fan base that’s both passionate and ecstatic. Some would argue that the city’s sports culture is actually a reflection of the city’s renaissance.
Sports have played a major role in bringing fans together. In fact, according to the sports jubilee committee, sports played a key role in creating over 456,000 jobs in 2013. The city has also hosted several major sporting events in its short history. For example, the NFL’s Divisional Round in 2010 drew tens of thousands to Soldier Field. Not to mention the annual NFL All-Star Game, which features a lineup of the best players from across the league.
In the realm of sports aficionados, the best way to get into the game is to get into the spirit. Whether it’s a trip to the ballpark or to one of the many local attractions, there are plenty of ways to spend a Saturday or Sunday night. If you have kids, a trip to a Chicago sports event may be the perfect way to entertain them while you get some of that well-earned shut-eye. Moreover, kids get to see and do a lot more during these types of events than you may realize. During Halloween, the Boston Bruins visited local children’s hospitals. So, while it’s unlikely that your kid will be playing in a major league game any time soon, you can still enjoy the perks of being a fan without leaving the comforts of home.
