Sports Events Culture in the Windy City
Located in the Windy City, Chicago is home to numerous professional and amateur sports teams. The Cubs and Blackhawks are two of the more notable franchises.
The Chicago Cubs have made a handful of memorable moments throughout their long and storied history, including their most recent Super Bowl appearance. Likewise, the Chicago Bulls are a powerhouse in the sports world. Although they haven’t made a Super Bowl appearance, they have produced one of the best basketball teams in the NBA.
The Chicago Bears also have a long and storied history, encompassing several championships over the years. Although they’ve never won a Super Bowl, they have been competitive on the field since the turn of the century. Aside from their on field successes, they have also funded worthy causes like the Junior Bears program and the Nerf football program.
It’s no wonder the city has been included in TSE’s International Ranking of Sport Cities every year since 2012. Not to mention, the city has earned the dubious distinction of being a fumbled-about contender in the best of all worlds category. With nearly 3 million residents, the Windy City is certainly a melting pot of a city. In addition to sporting teams, the city boasts a bevy of museums, theatres, restaurants and other attractions.
Whether you’re a diehard Bulls fan or a White Sox fan, you can’t miss the chance to catch a game at your favorite park. If you aren’t lucky enough to live in the Windy City, you can also watch the game online for free.
