Critics: encryption of police scanners in Chicago puts public safety at risk

Not only does the city boast the highest concentration of sports enthusiasts, it also happens to be a renaissance town. From the ’70s through the present, Chicago has been a center of the arts, a bastion of cultural diversity, and a hotbed of commerce. It’s no wonder that Chicago has been dubbed the sports capital of the United States.

In fact, the sports industry is a billion dollar business. Not only does it create good jobs for the locals, it also helps raise money for worthy causes. Some of the more prestigious awards have been presented to athletes such as Jay Berwanger, the first winner of the Heisman trophy.
