Considering the fact that Chicago is home to the NHL’s Blackhawks and the Cubs, it should come as no surprise that the Windy City is a sports fan’s dream town. In fact, it has been ranked in the top five most sports friendly cities in the United States, thanks to a well earned reputation as the sports capital of the Midwest. In addition to its home teams, Chicago boasts a plethora of amateur sporting organizations, ranging from rugby to hockey to golf to equestrian. The city is home to more than a half million registered horse enthusiasts, and this number is growing every year.

The aforementioned Bears have been a disappointing sight since the heydays of their glory days. The Chicago Blackhawks, however, have recently reclaimed their title as the preeminent hockey team in the land of the north.
