Sports Events Culture in Chicago
Considering the fact that Chicago is home to the NHL’s Blackhawks and the Cubs, it should come as no surprise that the Windy City is a sports fan’s dream town. In fact, it has been ranked in the top five most sports friendly cities in the United States, thanks to a well earned reputation as the sports capital of the Midwest. In addition to its home teams, Chicago boasts a plethora of amateur sporting organizations, ranging from rugby to hockey to golf to equestrian. The city is home to more than a half million registered horse enthusiasts, and this number is growing every year.
The aforementioned Bears have been a disappointing sight since the heydays of their glory days. The Chicago Blackhawks, however, have recently reclaimed their title as the preeminent hockey team in the land of the north. As the ole dawgs are wont to be, there’s bound to be a few high-stakes betting opportunities on the horizon.
As for the actual number of residents, it’s estimated that there are roughly 3 million Chicagoans. The city is divided into nine sub-divisions, ranging from the aforementioned city center to the outlying suburbs. With a population of nearly 3 million, it’s no wonder the city is a sporting enthusiast’s paradise.
