Not to mention a bevy of high profile amateur sports teams whose fans are known for their dedication. This is a city that makes a habit of winning awards.
The city has been dubbed the sports capital of the Midwest, and the sporting event aficionados amongst us can’t get enough of the gridiron. Chicago has also earned the title of the best city in the nation, and that is no mean feat. Thankfully, the city has a stellar transportation infrastructure which has enabled it to become a destination in and of itself. It is also home to the aforementioned sports hounds, as well as a plethora of parks and public spaces ideal for a family outing.
It is no surprise that Chicago is the sports capitol of the Midwest, but what is surprising is the magnitude of the adoration that the city has for its plethora of sports teams. Despite recent transfers and a lack of marquee athletes, Chicago has managed to retain some of the best in the business. The city has a storied sports history, namely the heyday of the Chicago Bulls, when Michael “Air” Jordan and company ruled the hardwood. And, as with any sports town, the locals are proud to be a part of the action.
