Chicago, the third-largest city in the United States, is a hotbed for sports. Major sporting events draw large crowds and fuel the city’s economy. From amateur teams to professional leagues, there is something for every sports fan in the Windy City. Chicago is the home of the Heisman Trophy and the NFL’s Bears.
WGN Radio has been a staple Chicago news station for over a century. The WGN hosts, Steve Bertrand and Lisa Dent, are joined by a rotating cast of WGN personalities. One of these radio hosts, Dave Eanet, joined Lisa Dent on the golf course this week. He worked with Dent and Bertrand when he was younger, and now shares stories about their time together. WGN Radio’s sports show has a history of providing Chicago sports fans with a local perspective.
WGN News Chicago covers the Chicago metropolitan area as well as northwest Indiana, southern Wisconsin and southwest Michigan. In addition, WGN Morning News broadcasts breaking news live and has a Twitter feed. Chicago news stories include sports events, public events, and education. WGN Radio 720 is Chicago’s Very Own radio station. It has 54 hours of local news per week and adds an hour to the news show at four o’clock.
WGN-TV is Chicago’s only major commercial television station. Its studios are located on West Bradley Place in the North Center neighborhood. WGN’s newscasts are broadcast live, and feature a variety of hosts. The Morning News is hosted by Robin Baumgarten and Larry Potash.
