Almost three million people call Chicago home. It is one of the largest cities in the United States and a celebrated melting pot of culture. The city is also home to a large number of professional and amateur sports teams. Three times named the World’s Best Sports City, Chicago is a top choice for sports fans. Since 2012, it has ranked high in the TSE international ranking of sport cities. The city has produced some famous athletes, including Jay Berwanger, the first Heisman Trophy winner.

Although Chicago sports teams aren’t as popular as some of the other major sports teams, Chicago’s faithful and passionate sports fans remain committed to their team. The Bears, for example, were in a disappointing position in 2014, but fans remained fervent and loyal. During the 1990s, the team dominated basketball, led by Michael ‘Air’ Jordan. The Blackhawks, meanwhile, have won two Stanley Cups, one in 2010 and one in 2013.
