Only on two displaced since Christmas a Family still stuck in a motel ever since A pipe burst and flooded their home in Round Lake Beach CBS 2's Sabrina Franza Is getting answers for that mother who's Been fighting to get her home back For almost two weeks now Patricia Chapman and her family have been living Out of a motel but she works hard so That they can live here Chapman used to Be homeless so when that pipe bursts and Flooded her home it didn't just kick her Out of her home it took so much more she Wants me to bring her Barbie house to The hotel And For me it's very hard to do that this Dollhouse bringing this with me and like We're just gonna get settled at the Hotel is all Patricia's six-year-old Keeps asking for I don't want the hotel To look like a home I don't want it to Look like a home Barbie's dream house For her daughter this is my home but It's not home this is living here was Chapman's dream as a mom it feels I feel Very helpless right now flooded on Christmas Eve a pipe burst she and her Three daughters 17 6 and 1 have been in A motel ever since something Chapman had To pay for using GoFundMe 500 a week More than her whole month's rent no I Asked about if they do any hotel Vouchers or anything and they said no

She says Prairie management and Development would not compensate her we Called them to ask ourselves first about A rent concession it's something that we Can look into then about a hotel voucher Would you be open to that concession Because we're I mean we're talking to People you would be be certainly you Heard that certainly now Chapman's Management company also told us this Happened to 13 people in total in this Complex and that they offered those Tenants the option to move into Temporary units Chapman says that was Not the case also today we did see Construction Crews but not at Chapman's Unit so we will keep following up until This issue is fixed we're in Round Lake Beach Sabrina Franza CBS 2 News
