Sports Events Culture in Chicago

Whether it’s the NFL’s Bears or the NHL’s Blackhawks, the Windy City is an athletic town. Not only do Chicagoans love to play sports, they love to see them on TV. In fact, the NFL’s most recent ratings show a 4% increase in attendance over the previous year.

Chicago is also home to many amateur sports teams. One of the better regarded is the Chicago Bears, a team that last won the Super Bowl in 1985. The city’s other claim to fame is its multiculturalism. It’s not uncommon to see a foreign dignitary in the Windy City. This isn’t to mention its many museums, theaters and parks. The city also boasts one of the best quality of life indexes in the country.

Whether it’s the NFL’s bears or the Blackhawks, the Windy City is a sports fan’s dream come true. Not to mention the fact that the city is home to the MLS, the world’s oldest professional sports league. And, it’s one of the few cities to boast the distinction of being home to two major sports leagues in the same city. This gives the city a lot of leeway when it comes to choosing who gets the home field advantage.

The city’s best sports teams may not be as competitive as they once were, but they’re still a lot of fun to watch. The city has two professional sports teams, the Bulls and the Blackhawks, and a host of amateur teams.
