Sports Events Culture in Chicago
Considering the fact that Chicago is the home to some of the greatest athletes in the world, it is no surprise that the city boasts some of the most dedicated fans in the league. Not surprisingly, this city is also one of the largest in terms of sports fans per capita. In 2010, the sports business generated $340 million in revenue for the metro area. It is not a stretch to claim that sports have helped create 456,000 jobs to date.
Sports are a great way for fans to bond with other fans and have some fun in the process. For example, the Chicago Blackhawks have won two Stanley Cups in the past. Likewise, the Chicago Bulls have dominated basketball in the past, if you count their predecessors the Bulls of the 80s. In short, there are few things more gratifying than watching your team win a game, especially if it is yours. The best part is the fun is extended to family members and friends who are not fortunate enough to live in the Windy City.
