The Chicago area has played host to many great sporting events in its past. In the modern era, the Blackhawks have won two Stanley Cups, the Cubs have won two world series, and the Bulls have dominated the basketball league during the 90’s. In fact, the city has been rated as the best sports city in the world for two years in a row.

It’s not all about the wins, the losses, and the scrimmages. Sports have also played a large part in bringing fans together, and raising awareness of important issues. A study in New York found that in 2013, sports helped create 456,000 jobs, and helped generate an estimated $340 million for the local economy.

The Chicago sports scene is a reflection of the city’s renaissance. It’s no wonder the city has been rated as the best city to watch sports, best sports town, and best sports city for kids. As a result, the city is home to one of the most enthusiastic fans in the country. Some of the city’s most loyal citizens are fans of the Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks. In 2010, the city was named the sports capital of the world by a sports fanatic website.

The modern age has given rise to new forms of media, and new ways of communicating. With the rise of the mobile phone and the Internet, news outlets are able to spread across the globe faster than the news on the radio. The evolution of the print sports media has been a tale of two halves. In the early nineteenth century, sports coverage was limited to announcing matches and recording outcomes.
