Sports Events Culture in Chicago
Chicago is the third-largest city in the United States and is home to nearly 3 million people. Often called the “melting pot” or “city in a garden,” Chicago is also one of the most popular sports destinations in the world. Its reputation as a top sports destination has earned it the title of “Best Sports City” three times. Every year since 2012, it has ranked in the top 15 sports cities around the globe. The city is home to many sporting events and is a hub for professional and amateur sports. There are also plenty of volunteer opportunities in sports related fields.
Chicago’s sports fan culture is incredibly passionate. The Chicago Bears are in a dreadful slump after winning the Super Bowl in 1985, but they remain a faithful and passionate group of fans. The NBA’s Chicago Bulls dominated the NBA during the 1990s under Michael ‘Air’ Jordan. In hockey, the Chicago Blackhawks have won two Stanley Cups.
